With the unbounding support of the Winnebago (and surrounding areas) communitie's contributions, in accordance with WHS' Servant Leadership team, over ### food items were collected.
Throughout various school events, we hold bake sales to raise money for our club. Each member of Winnebago’s Servant Leadership group bakes an item, and we sell them, usually in pairs, to attendees at the event. We host a few of these each semester and raise a significant portion of our funds through them.
Culver’s Share Night was a great way to bring our community together to support Hearts and Hands for Hunger. From 5–7 pm, 10% of all profits from Culver’s in Winnebago went toward helping feed children around the world. During the event, we helped welcome guests, serve food, and clean tables. Many family members, friends, and classmates came out to show their support. Overall, it was a meaningful way to get the community involved, and I really enjoyed spending the evening working alongside my peers.
On April 8th and 10th, we visited the 5th grade classrooms at our elementary school in Winnebago to present information on texting and social media safety, proper email usage, and how to identify scams. This project was developed with the goal of preparing younger students with important knowledge before they transition into middle school. In addition to promoting safety within our schools, it also provided an opportunity to engage with younger members of our community and strengthen connections with them.
